Founded in April 1997 WorkAid & Associates was born out of a demand, within the Hamilton community, for someone to advocate for the rights of Immigrant Baby Boomers. Because of language barriers, these injured or ill individuals were not properly represented and thus being taken advantage of.
WorkAid quickly cut out a niche for themselves and began serving more than 40 new clients a month from the Niagara Region through to the "GTA".
One year ago the Law Society of Upper Canada saw to regulate paralegals, giving legal advice, and WorkAid immediately became an accredited Professional Corporation. This has enabled WorkAid to broaden its scope and hire qualified legal specialists in many different areas making this organization a leader in the paralegal industry.

Angelo Procopio (Founder) - Member in Good Standing The Law Society of Upper Canada
Angelo Procopio was Born January 9th, 1969 in Thunder Bay Ontario and graduated from McMaster University 1992 with an honours degree in Romance languages. Fluent in Italian, French and Hispanics, Angelo began a career in translation and interpretation. Ultimately he was hired as a Bilingual Claims Specialist for Paul Revere Life Insurance Company, where he began to understand that, from the perspective of an insurance company, it is better to deny a claim than pay out a claim. Seeing the pain and damage this does to someone who legitimately has a right to a fair and equitable claim, he did the only thing he could and that was to start a paralegal service to fight for those individuals (and their families).
Angelo was recently honoured (for his community work) with an award of merit from the San Bruno Association of Toronto.
Rose Puzzo (Paralegal) - Member in Good Standing The Law Society of Upper Canada
Rose graduated with a Business Marketing Diploma from Mohawk College in 1994. Her first position, in the insurance industry, was that of a Life and Disability Insurance Underwriter for CIBC's Creditor Products; during her career at CIBC she also worked in the Creditor Claims department.
Having worked for an Insurance Company for so many years Rose began to see the injustice in the system. Upon the realization that a career change was in order, Rose was fortunate to find a company that shared her same views and she became a proud member of the WorkAid family. Rose holds the position of Senior Claims Consultant.

Maria Faiazza (Legal Clerk/Administrator)
Upon graduation from Cathedral High School and completion of a 2-year Marketing/Office program at Mohawk College, Maria has over 20 years of Administrative experience including 11 years with WorkAid. Being fluent in Italian has also helped her serve the Hamilton community.

Terry (Theresa) Stephens (Administrative Assistant)
Terry has been with WorkAid & Associates for ten years. Because Theresa once found herself in the same position as many of our clients, she brings a personal commitment to helping those who are encountering the challenges associated with not being able to provide for one's family. While born in Midland, Ontario Hamilton has been her home for most of her life - where she has raised her family and now enjoys her professional life at WorkAid & Associates and her personal life with her grandchildren.
